Storm-Rising by Christopher Martinez © 2010 “Storm Rising” was planned about thirty miles before I arrived at the spot where I took this shot. I saw the rain mist on my windshield and immediately sped up to 75 mph in hopes that I would get to my destination before the monsoon rain would drench the thirsty red Abiquiu Mesa beneath the full clouds. Upon arrival, I quickly set up my equipment, and in seconds, the heavens released a downpour right above my head causing flash floods all around me.
